Global Education Milton Keynes
GEMK is an educational resource centre working to increase awareness and understanding of sustainability and development issues.
GEMK is a charitable company, limited by guarantee.

GEMK is a resource centre with photo and activity packs, books, videos and artefacts from different countries. All our resources can be borrowed by our members free of charge. We make a small charge of £5/week for the loan of a box of artefacts. These include Ghana, India, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Recycling, and Toys.
We are dealing with different projects like Sustainable Schools, Sustainable Communities, Global Dimension, Newton 2007.
We also provide INSET training on Sustainability, Global Citizenship and the Rights of the Child. This can be as twilight sessions or for a half or full day. Perhaps you could get together with other local schools for a joint training session. Please call us for information about course details and charges.

Through London and the South East Region - Global Dimension LaSER - GD intiative, we are developing our strategic approach to enable more children to learn about global issues.
GEMK is connected with 'Sust!', the city centre's first fair trade shop, and is closely involved with plans to develop a Global Centre in Central Milton Keynes.
