Events - Sustainable Schools Conference
A chilly day at the end of March saw nearly 280 children from 12 Milton Keynes schools descend on Gulliver's Eco Park in Newlands for our 2008 Sustainable Schools conference.
There are 8 Workshops like Recycling, Pond dipping, Earth walk, Road safety, Fairtrade, Sustainable communities and Parachute games. Ane each school gave a presentation on sustainability. Each school attended two workshops together with a session with a juggler in the theatre. All the children had a great time at the conference.
Once again GEMK was fortunate to be able to call on the expertise of other sustainable educators to run the workshops. A big thank you to the Parks Trust, Milton Keynes Council(travel dept), The Co-op, City Discovery Centre, Peace & Justice centre, BBOWT, Recycling centre, The National Energy Foundation and Eco Park for their help.
