Global Dimension

Did you know that GEMK is currently involved in a Global Dimensions project? Begun last year by Angelique and currently supported by Jane and Meena, the project is intended to encourage schools to give global citizenship more of a central role in the life of their school.

GEMK has been collaborating with Reading International Solidarity Centre (RISC) to develop a Global Dimension project.

Using RISC developed materials, project workers from GEMK visit each school and audit the children's knowledge and attitudes. After analysing the results, suggestions are made to help the schools address any issues that have arisen.

Schools are all keen to put global citizenship more to the fore in the life of their school. They are aiming to help their children look at the global perspective through their curriculum.

There is a shared responsibility to make their children more aware of the wider world and their role as a Global Citizen.
