Projects

As well as running a resource centre and information service, GEMK is usually involved with several projects at any one time. Some of these are only open to a limited number of schools, often on a first come, first served basis. Others are open to all.

Then there are three long term projects. Sustainable Schools started as a pilot scheme in 2003 and now 14 schools are involved. This whole school approach is open to all - it is free for the first year. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.

If you are interested in concentrating on putting a global dimension into your curriculum, ethos and development plan, then you might like to join our Global Dimension project. This too is free for the first year.

Local 4 Global is a regional initiative, funded largely by the Department for International Development, to try and enable every child in London and the SE Regions to have a global dimension in their school experience.

A faith-based project, The Local Faith and Global Issues, is being run in partnership with Interfaith MK. A new stage of the project, called Voices of Faith is now being developed.

For the last two years we have been working with Milton Keynes Council and local schools on Sustainable Communities.

Slavery is now part of the secondary curriculum and we have exhibitions and displays which can be borrowed to enhance your teaching.
